The issue of bulk bags has always been the time and difficulty they create in regards to movement.
Using the ears of the bags is a slow process as they require alignment with the fork tines.
Astron Plastics is one of the nation’s largest plastic recyclers and materials handling manufacturers. The company has developed a simple yet efficient way of loading the bulk Bags using SLIPPAL, which it has been manufacturing for a number of years.
“We had numerous issues with best practices for loading containers of resin in bulk bags,” explains Michael Viney, Astron Victorian Manager. "With SLIPPAL, the result has been we can unload and load a container without hassle and wasted time.”
The simplicity of the SLIPPAL product is what really gives it the edge.
Instead of a pallet that reduces your available space, SLIPPAL sits under the bulk bag and allows for minimal wasted space as the product moulds to the shape of the SLIPPAL.
Manufactured from 100% recycled resin and a patented product by Astron, SLIPPAL is fast becoming the best method to freight bulk bags.
Some first time users asked us what the advantage of SLIPPAL was over a standard pallet. The following are the answers:
- A standard pallet will reduce your available space by 120mm for every pallet used; this creates issues inside a shipping container.
- SLIPPAL allows your product to mould itself to the shape creating a temporary locking in of your bulk bag.
- The potential damage to a bulk bag caused by damaged pallets and nails has the potential to cause spills creating down time and lost product.
- When used on top of another Bulk bag SLIPPAL creates a much greater contact area and stable load than a double stacked pallet.
- Using SLIPPAL reduces the hazards of 'swinging' when moving a bulk bag by the standard methods.
- The 'ear tearing' issues are completely eradicated allowing the bulk bag to have a longer life span.
SLIPPAL is available from Astron Plastics in both Australia and New Zealand.
