Good Vibes for You (GVFY) is an Australian company doing big things in the United States.

After more than 12 months of investigation the company run by two young Australian entrepreneurs is soon to release one of the world’s first truly green bottled waters.

This new bottled water is packaged in 100% biodegradable materials, everything from the cap, to the label, to the bottle itself will naturally decompose leaving only useable soil. Unlike other biodegradable bottles currently available this bottle is also 100% recyclable.

This is the first bottle of its kind. The water is sourced from snow melt on Tushar Mountain in Beaver, Utah, and the bottling facility is powered completely by hydro-electric and wind energy.

This all combines to provide one of the cleanest most environmentally friendly bottled waters ever produced. The water will be ready for distribution by the end of September.

According to Ajanta Willert, the managing director of GVFY, they recognised there was a need for bottled water that did not contribute to growing landfill.

“Across the United States sales of bottled water have plummeted in recent times as consumers begin to understand the environmental implications," Willert says.

"There will always be a demand for clean bottled water so it was necessary for us to investigate how we could satisfy this demand without harming the environment.”

GVFY is based in Brisbane Australia and while the biodegradable bottles will only be available initially in the United States, Willert and company co-founder Simone Milasas are investigating the opportunity to introduce the technology in Australia.

“We know there will be a market for the biodegradable product in Australia and globally, Australian’s are certainly very aware of recycling and emissions.

"We have been overwhelmed with orders in the United States and can see a similar level of demand at home,” Willert says.

Locally, GVFY creates a range of eco-friendly merchandise and offsets 100% of its carbon emissions annually.

GVFY is launching an education campaign in 2010 designed to teach Australia’s school children the benefit of recycling and reduction of waste.

GVFY are members of Australian Made, Australian Grown and the Biological Farmers of Australia.
