Sustainable business - are you a believer?

Sustainable business is the phrase of the moment.

But how many businesses and employees within those businesses are really behind the idea?

You tell us. Visit the online opinion poll on the homepage.

It is an irrefutable fact that measures need to be taken as soon as possible to reduce the negative effects of industry on the environment, both on a local and global level.

Australia's situation is pressing: climate change for this continent could be devastating on businesses, livelihoods and agriculture, as well as the country's natural assets and beauty.

In a recent poll on the packaging website, 88% of people said their company relied on recycling to address sustainability.

The fact that companies are recycling is encouraging, but recycling alone will not insure the packaging industry against the damaging effects to their business of climate change and the public's perception of the industry.

Energy consumption, reduction in water use and waste, and a more sustainable approach to producing packaging materials should all be part of a business' approach.

This is great in theory, but to what level does the industry truly believe these measures are necessary?

Do you believe that more needs to be done?
