Spotlight, Australia’s largest fabric, craft and home decorating retailer has formed a partnership with Visy Recycling to further increase its already impressive sustainability record.
Visy Recycling will collect over 1800 tonnes of cardboard from the 105 Spotlight stores this year.
Chief Executive Officer of Spotlight Mr Stephen Carter says at Spotlight it's believed ther business presents great potential to effect positive change.
"This partnership with VISY Recycling to recycle our cardboard and plastic wrap will dramatically reduce our green house gas emissions and reduce our overall carbon footprint," he says.

- For Spotlight, the annual benefits include the equivalent of:
- a reduction of 720 tonnes in Co2 -e green house gas emissions,
- the removal of 173 cars permanently from the road,
- saving over 17 Olympic swimming pools of water,
- saving 1500 homes annual electricity consumption, and
- preventing the harvesting of 23,400 trees.
In addition to recycling cardboard, Spotlight will also recycle 134 tonnes of LDPE plastic film annually.
