Cereal and snack maker Kellogg Co says it has acquired Specialty Cereals Pty Ltd, a privately owned manufacturer of natural ready-to-eat cereals based in Sydney.

Terms weren't disclosed in the announcement released on Friday 19th September by Kellogg.

But the Battle Creek-based company says with Specialty Cereals' annual net sales of about $US17 million ($A21.55 million), the deal isn't expected to affect Kellogg's 2008 operating profit.

The acquisition adds a small factory to Kellogg's Australian manufacturing network. The companies already have a long relationship.

Specialty Cereals has been a making and packaging products for Kellogg for 20 years.

Kellogg's brands include Corn Flakes, Froot Loops, All Bran and Coco Pops.
