Innovia Films’ packaging awarded CarbonNeutral certification

INNOVIA Films has gained CarbonNeutral certification for its entire range of cellulose-based NatureFlex coated biodegradable and compostable packaging films.

According to Innovia Films, the CarbonNeutral certification has been achieved through an independent assessment of the carbon dioxide emissions produced by the manufacturing of its NatureFlex products.

The company said it has been involved in carbon offset projects which supports the development of anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities in the Netherlands.

“The fit between this type of project and NatureFlex is perfect as NatureFlex is suitable for disposal using emerging 'waste to energy' techniques such as AD, aiding the diversion of organic wastes from landfill,” Innovia Films, business development and sustainability manager, Andy Sweetman said.
