Evolution Awards winners

The 2nd annual Packaging Evolution Awards presentation, held at WatersEdge Sydney in September, recognised those companies that are National Packaging Covenant signatories and have achieved exceptional results in packaging waste management.

Kimberly-Clark Australia was awarded the Best in Show for demonstrating the most significant results, reporting against its National Packaging Covenant Action Plan.

The winners and high commended in each of the 10 categories were:

Community Partnership Action Award

Winner: Coca-Cola Amatil

HC: Amcor

Retail Packaging Action Award

Winner: BP

HC: Telstra

Food Packaging Action Award

Winner: Goodman Fielder

HC: Pace Farm

Most Innovative Solution in Packaging, Waste Management Award

Winner: Golden Circle

HC: IBM

Most Outstanding Demonstration of Packaging Waste Management in Australia Award

Winners: Dulux

IBM

Most Outstanding Demonstration of Packaging Waste Management in New Zealand Award

Winner: Astron Plastics

Over 140 guests attended the presentation breakfast including representatives of finalist companies such as IBM, BP Australia, HJ Heinz, Coca-Cola Amatil, Amcor and Huhtamaki New Zealand among others; suppliers to the packaging industry, packaging professionals and sponsors of the awards, Heidelberg, Globus, 3M, Tronics, Cospak and Cryovac/Sealed Air.

The awards were judged by Professor Harry Lovell, Mike Walker and Robin Tuckerman, all prominent members of the packaging community.

The winners will be featured in the December issue of Packaging magazine.
