Eco-friendly barbecue package

Before you pull out the lighter for the Barbie this summer, consider the Baja BBQ firepack, a Biopulp barbecue firestarter package that lights instantly and burns away in the grill.

The Baja BBQ firepack is a charcoal package is made from 100-per cent-recycled biodegradable pulpboard.

Manufactured by Lazzari/Design Annex and designed by Mike and Maaike from San Francisco, this clever instant charcoal packaging is simple ando easy to use.

According to the designers’ web site, “14,500 tons of Volatile Organic Compunds (VOCS) are emitted from the 46,200 tons of lighter fluid used in the US every year”.

This is what inspired them to come up with a chemical free, non-messy alternative.

The package contains 2 lb of lump charcoal and features an integrated chimney that creates perfect hot coals without the aid of chemicals or light fluid, making the barbeque experience simple, clean and chemical free.
