UK manufacturer Autobond has installed its first ever laminator in Libya, at one of the country’s leading sheet-fed commercial and sign printers, Al Mostakbal Print Co in Tripoli.
The company provides large format inkjet sign production and also operates a wide array of mutli-colour Heidelberg Speedmasters, with the latest press delivered earlier this year at the same time as the new Autobond Mini 76 T.
“We already operated laminating equipment but needed to increase our capacity,” says Abdulwahed Tayeb Abdulwahed, son of the founder.
“I had seen Autobond laminators in production at the last Drupa and was extremely impressed by the robust construction, high productivity and ease of operation.
"We examined laminators from other manufactures during the show, but they didn’t come near to the Autobond machine in terms of quality and productivity.
“When we decided to purchase another laminator we knew that this was the company to contact. We liked Autobond’s whole approach to doing business and when you asked them a question they had the confidence in their products to give a real answer.
“Autobond’s expertise was confirmed when the Mini 76 T was delivered — it was the smoothest installation of equipment we have ever had at the factory!
"One of the first jobs on the new Mini 76 T was to laminate school book covers. The job went very well.”
Al Mostakbal Print employs 60 people and operates a wide range of pre-press, presses and finishing equipment, including saddle stitching, perfect binding plus cutting and creasing facilities.
Its customers include government organisations and educational establishments.
