16th Round Table: Packaging Designing Sustainability

  •  26 March 2010

The Sustainable Packaging Alliance (SPA) will host the 16th Round Table: Packaging Designing Sustainability will be held in Melbourne on 6 May and in Sydney on 3 June.

This follows the announcement that the National Packaging Covenant will end in 2010 and be replaced by the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC).

According to the SPA, the APC will emphasise the need to reduce waste and environmental impacts of packaging. APC signatories will be required to use the new Sustainable Packaging Guidelines for design or procurement of packaging, and to report annually on progress.

To be repeated in two locations for the first time, this Round Table, organised in association with the National Packaging Covenant and the Australian Food and Grocery Council, will introduce and provide a forum for discussion on the new APC and Sustainable Packaging Guidelines. It will explore how ‘design for sustainability’ is being practiced within the packaging supply chain.
